LOGAN, Utah – Corey Ansfield has been named the assistant athletics director for annual giving within the Utah State University Athletics Department it was announced on Wednesday, March 14. Ansfield, who officially began his duties on Monday, March 12, will be in charge of the athletic department’s annual fund as well as directing the Big Blue Scholarship Fund. Ansfield replaces Tom Hale who resigned in December to take a fundraising position with the USU College of Science. “We are excited to have Corey take on this vital leadership role with the Big Blue Scholarship Fund,” said Kent Stanley, senior associate athletics director for development. “We had a high quality pool of candidates and Corey rose to the top with his commitment to outstanding customer service and the use of technology to foster donor communication. Corey has the potential to be a star in the development profession.” Ansfield comes to Utah State after spending the previous year as a development assistant in the Rebel Athletic Fund at UNLV where he was responsible for over $35,000 in new revenue. Ansfield began his athletics career at Illinois State University where he was involved in ticket operations. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Big Blue Scholarship Fund staff and the Logan community,” said Ansfield. “I look forward to being a part of the great traditions of Utah State University and Aggie Athletics.” A native of Oshkosh, Wis., Ansfield graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marian (Wis.) University where he played baseball. He later received his master’s degree in sports management from Illinois State University. -USU-
