LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s basketball will continue its postseason run by hosting Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m., in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) it was announced Sunday afternoon. Tickets for the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament are $17 for adults and $5 for USU students with a valid student ID, while current Jr. Aggie members will receive free admission with an adult ticket. Fans can purchase tickets in person inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at the USU Ticket Office, or over the phone by call 1-888-USTATE-1. Tickets are also available on-line 24 hours a day at UtahStateAggies.com. Utah State is 19-15 on the season after posting home wins against CSU Bakersfield (75-69) and Idaho (76-56) in the first two rounds of the CIT. Overall, USU has won five of its last six games and is 15-4 at home this year. Loyola Marymount is 21-12 overall after defeating Cal State Fullerton (88-79) and Weber State (84-78 OT) in the first two rounds of the CIT. The Lions, who have won nine of their last 12 games, are 9-3 on the road and 9-4 away from home this year. LMU finished in fourth-place in the West Coast Conference this year with an 11-5 record. All-time, Utah State is 6-0 against Loyola Marymount with all six of those games being played in Logan. The last time the two teams met was on Dec. 30, 2004 in the championship game of the USU hosted Gossner Foods Holiday Classic with the Aggies posting an 87-42 win. Utah State is led by sophomore guard Preston Medlin who is averaging 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists, while shooting 49.6 percent from the field, 42.8 percent from three-point range and 78.8 percent at the free throw line. Utah State has two other players scoring in double-figures as senior guard Brockeith Pane is averaging 12.3 points and 4.1 assists, while junior forward Kyisean Reed is averaging 10.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Senior forward Morgan Grim is averaging 8.7 points and a team-best 5.9 rebounds on the season. As a team, Utah State is averaging 67.7 points and shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point range and 70.8 percent at the free throw line. Defensively, USU is allowing 64.1 points and its opponents are shooting 41.8 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from three-point range and 66.4 percent at the free throw line. Loyola Marymount is led by sophomore guard Anthony Ireland who is averaging 15.8 points, while shooting 44.2 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from three-point range and 76.8 percent at the free throw line. Senior forward Drew Viney is averaging 15.1 points and 5.5 rebounds, junior forward Ashley Hamilton is averaging 10.9 points and 5.5 rebounds, and junior guard Jarred DuBoise is averaging 10.1 points per game. As a team, Loyola Marymount is averaging 70.3 points and shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from three-point range and 74.1 percent at the free throw line. Defensively, LMU is allowing 67.1 points and its opponents are shooting 41.6 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from three-point range and 70.3 percent at the free throw line.
