Some people may say he’s too young but Democratic Congressional candidate Ryan Combe says he is just what is needed as a replacement for incumbent Republican Rob Bishop in the First District. On KVNU’s For the People program Thursday, Combe said his oldest child is in Kindergarten and his youngest is 18 months old. “I’m still raising a family. I still have a mortgage payment,” Combe explained. “I’m not out of touch with what’s going on with the community because I’m still a member of the community.” Combe said that his experiences in the real world set him apart from career politicians. “You get politicians that have been in there so long that they’re out of touch. They have no idea. They have great pension programs, they have great insurance policies. They’re not dealing with the issues that the majority of our community are dealing with and I am.” A resident of Ogden, Combe holds a job in administration at Weber State University. He is facing another Democrat, Donna McAleer, in a Democratic primary.
