USU percussion road show

Utah State University’s Percussion Ensemble will take its show to the campuses of both USU Eastern and USU Uintah Basin this week. The ensemble will perform at Price, Roosevelt and Vernal. Admission is free and open to the public. The Price performance starts at 7:30 Thursday night at the Price Civic Auditorium and it is co-sponsored by Price City Culture Connection. The Vernal performance starts Friday at 7 p.m. at the Vernal Middle School. The Roosevelt performance will be at Union High School during a daytime assembly Friday. The performances will be under the direction of Dr. Jason Nicholson, USU Assistant professor and director of the percussion program. Five Caine College of the Arts Music Department students will be performing: Emily Ashcroft, Bryan Carpenter, Doug Deakin, Doug Fields and Betsy Nelson. Following the evening performances in both Price and Vernal there will be a reception giving community members a chance to meet the performers and enjoy light refreshments.
