A power outage affected thousands of residents in the south end of Cache County Wednesday afternoon. The outage was reported at 2:52 p.m. and affected more than 9100 Rocky Mountain Power customers.

The problem was traced to the Hyrum substation where it connects with Rocky Mountain Power. Power was restored to most Rocky Mountain Power customers within an hour but took approximately two hours for power to be fully restored to parts of Hyrum.
