Cache Humane Society hosting several events/camps this summer

Brenda Smith has taken over as director of the Cache Humane Society at a time of year when there is an extremely busy schedule. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Friday, Smith said Wednesday, May 30 is May Spay Day when the cost is just $25 for cats and $45 for dogs.

The Humane Society is involved with several other events this summer. Events coordinator Diane Mahlquist is in charge of camps and she says they have been expanded this summer in order to give kids more options.

“So we decided to create two new summer camps this year,” Mahlquist said. “So we’ll still go with our traditional all-day one that we did last summer. But then we’ve also added in a three day dog camp this year and a three day advanced camp where the kids can go off site and tour different facilities in the valley that deal with animals.”

After that all-day camp will be the three day camp which deals with all kinds of dog activities followed by the third week camp where visits are made to a lot of places. For more information on camps, call the Cache Humane Society at 792-3920.
