This is Summerfest week 2012 and once again locally and nationally known artists from throughout the country will exhibit their work and celebrate the creative process. Executive director Marianne Sidwell says once again the Arts Faire will be held on the grounds of the Logan Tabernacle where there has been a fair amount of construction during the last year.
“It started last year right after Summerfest and they just finished up,” Sidwell says. “It’s beautiful. They’ve re-done the parking lot, they’ve added more landscaping. It’s really nice and it’s really going to enhance our event this year.
“Although it will have a different layout. Visitors will not see any booths on Main Street, so don’t let that confuse you.”
Sidwell says Summerfest kicked off Monday with the Plein Air Paint Out and Photography contest but the main event runs Thursday through Saturday. Sidwell says once again there will be great food, great art and great music including the headliner Ryan Shupe on Saturday. Sidwell is assisted by Debbie Dinton who will take over as Summerfest director after this season.
