Garden City bans fireworks and all fires

GARDEN CITY– Mayor John Spuhler has announced a total ban on fireworks in Garden City, effective immediately and until further notice. Fire danger is very high in the area, and not only have fireworks been banned, but all fires – including those in enclosed pits – have been prohibited.

Spuhler said a ban is already in place for all of Rich County. A fine of up to $500 is possible for infractions of the ban.

The Garden City announcement comes on the heels of Governor Gary Herbert’s announcement on a statewide ban on fireworks except where allowed in municipalities.

Logan and Cache County have restrictions in place in all unincorporated areas of the valley, as well as other areas in city limits. For a complete list of restrictions, visit www.loganutah.org.
