Man killed in ATV crash near Mt. Logan

LOGAN—One man is dead and another was transported to a hospital after they crashed their ATV near White’s Bedground on their way back from Mt. Logan Sunday night.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Brian Locke said the accident happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday and 24-year-old Cory Crump of Tremonton was pronounced dead at the scene. Kalab Wahler was also involved in the crash, and was transported to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.

Wahler was admitted to the emergency room Sunday night, but was no longer listed as a patient there Monday morning. The hospital would not confirm if he had been released or was transferred to another hospital.

The pair was driving a two-seat Polaris RZR ATV when Lt. Locke said the vehicle went off the road and rolled down through some trees. He said alcohol was probably the main contributor to the crash.

“That’s still under investigation, but it looks like alcohol,” he said. “That was one of the contributing factors, and probably speeds too fast for that area.”

Lt. Locke said Wahler and Crump were wearing seatbelts, but there were not wearing helmets or any other protective equipment.
