Patriotic programs continue in Hyrum and Lewiston

Star Spangled Days continue in Hyrum and the big day is Wednesday, July 4. The festivities start early with the 5K Blacksmith Fork Freedom Run at 7 a.m. and a chuck wagon breakfast from 7 to 10.

The parade starts at 12 noon down Hyrum’s Main Street and afterwards there will be free watermelon on City Square served by the mayor and members of the city council. Booths and entertainment will be on the square during the afternoon including well-known magician Richard Hatch.

There will also be demonstrations by some jump ropers. Entertainment at the soccer field begins at 8 p.m. in advance of the fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Lewiston also has a full slate of celebration activities on city square and the 4th of July Parade begins at 9:30 a.m.
