Libertarian Party alive and well in Utah

LOGAN— The Libertarian Party is alive and well in Utah according to Courtney White, secretary of the Libertarian party in the state.

On KVNU’s Harry Caines Show, White said he feels the Libertarians have some great candidates running for the state legislature – Kenny Barber and Barry Short – along with gubernatorial candidate Ken Larsen.

“When it comes to things like civil liberties, I don’t think (Governor Gary Herbert) is on the ball with that. When it comes to economics, I think he’s made some great decisions and I think he’s made some bad decisions,” White said. “I think that someone like Ken – Ken knows what the Libertarian platform is – understands what a free market economy is, he understands what civil liberties are, and I think that he would really be better than Governor Herbert.”

White said unfortunately the Libertarians missed the deadline e for filing a candidate to run against U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch.
