Cache GOP chair excited about Romney VP choice

The chairman of the Cache County Republican Party says he is excited about Mitt Romney choosing Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate.  Boyd Pugmire says he feels this will bring a lot more substance to the table instead of people just tearing each other down.

Pugmire says he feels by choosing Ryan, Romney has helped his chance for winning in November.

“I think they have a very good chance of winning,” Pugmire says. “I think as people get to learn more about it and learn the truth on things instead of what’s been spun…I think there’s been a lot of spin on the Ryan Plan…if people would do the research themselves and find out the truth about how the programs are set up they won’t be throwing anybody from a cliff.”

Pugmire says the Ryan budget plan actually leaves Medicare in better shape than what Democrats are doing–stealing from Medicare to pay for Obamacare.

Both Jon Huntsman, Sr and Jon Huntsman, Jr have called on Mitt Romney to release more of his tax returns. Pugmire disagrees. Pugmire says Romney has released enough and releasing more tax returns is not an issue but rather a distraction.

“It’s a distraction the Obama campaign is using to keep people from thinking about his failed policies,” Pugmire exclaims. “I guess my feelings toward the tax return issue is what about the birth certificate that was asked for?

“What about college transcripts that were asked for? The Obama camp had no problem not giving that up.”

Pugmire says he is excited about Romney choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate. He says Republicans have a lot of strong candidates this year.
