Holladay— It was all about big plays as the Sky View Bobcats held on to win their season opener in a tight game against the Olympus Titans, beating them on the road 21-14.
It was the bobcats who shook off the season opening jitters first thanks to a 90-yard passing touchdown from Braxton Godderidge to Daniel Lemon in the second quarter putting Sky View up 7-0 after a Nelson Griffiths extra point. Lemon struck again in the second quarter, this time on the ground with a 39-yard scamper to push the lead to 13-0 after a failed kick.
Sky View’s Skyler Hunt was the next to add to the score board, legging out an 85 yard touchdown run. The bobcats converted on the two point try to go up 21-0 after three quarters of action.
It was then the Titans turn in the fourth quarter, as Olympus marched down the field and scored on a short pass to get its first score of the night. The Titans scored again in the fourth on a goal-line run to make it a one possession game. Sky View’s defense stopped the bleeding and held on to win the game. Sky View will open its home season this Friday, Aug. 24, against Hunter.
