Over 600 runners expected for Wellsville Founder’s Day races

A crowd exceeding last year’s 600 entrants is expected to compete in Monday’s Wellsville Founders Day 5K, 10K and Kids K (one mile) Fun Run.

The Labor Day event begins at 7 a.m. sharp on the east side of the Wellsville Tabernacle.

“Every year we have more and more runners involved,” said Race Director Juanita Malm. “The top three male and female finishers in both the 10K and the 5K win gift certificates to Runners North. All runners names are included in a drawing for prizes that are donations from around the valley.”

Runners can pay a half-price pre-registration price of $10 up until 4:30 p.m Thursday at the Wellsville City offices; that includes a t-shirt. After that registration will begin at 6:00 the morning of the race and the fee doubles to $20.

Kids K registration is $3.
