Multicultural Center struggling financially

The Multicultural Center of Cache Valley is currently experiencing a funding crisis. Board of Directors Chairman Blaise Chanson says the center has been serving the Cache Valley minority community for nearly 20 years and it has relied primarily on local support and the United Way of Cache Valley.

Chanson says the center has seen a serious decline in support during the current economic downturn and clients have responded by donating about 10 percent of the operating costs. Chanson will be a guest on KVNU’s Crosstalk show on Tuesday, September 18 and he will be accompanied by the center’s new director Ernesto Lopez.

They will talk about the services provided by the center and about how the center is partnering with USU Charter Credit Union in a fundraising drive.
