It began Thursday with the theme “Let the Games Begin.” Thousands of people are expected to enjoy the annal North Logan Pumpkin Walk which continues through Tuesday of next week, except for Sunday, at Elk Ridge Park.
On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Thursday, committee member Gina Worthen said the popular event features at least 45 creative scenes and thousands of pumpkins hundreds of vounteers have been working on for weeks to make it even more successful than past years.
Worthen said something new is included this year: a puppet show. The puppet show came about, Worthen said, when a talented woman offered a show with four main characters plus, “three blind zucchini.”
“The puppet show runs daily at 5 and 6:30 and Saturday there will also be a matinee at 2 and 3:30. It will just be in the middle of where the path goes around, right in the middle. It will be easy to find. She told me she does stylized marionettes and they have paper mache heads. She writes her own stories. We’re excited to have that addition and it should be a lot of fun.”
The Pumpkim Walk is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is free.
