This is the 30th anniversary year for the Cache Valley Civic Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and the holiday favorite opens Friday, November 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ellen Eccles Theatre.
Founder and Artistic Director Sandy Emile says performances will also be held on Saturday and Monday, November 24 and 26th with a matinee Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Friday, Emile said once again the Sugar Plum Tea Party will be held prior to the matinee at 11 a.m. in the Bullen Center ballroom.
“People can come, they can have cookies and punch,” Emile said. “They can meet some of the cast members. Their young children, if you would like, can come and see the tutus, the point shoes, see the tiaras that we wear, see the Mouse King before he does his battle.
“It’s just a very fun event to enhance a child’s enjoyment of the production.”
The production features a cast of almost 100 along with the Northern Utah Symphony Orchestra and the Cache Children’s Choir.
