Stangs pull away from

LAYTON— The Mountain Crest boys basketball team used a huge fourth quarter to come home with a 69-57 win over Layton Friday night. The Mustangs snapped a three-game losing streak as they shot the ball well all night against the Lancers.

All five of the Mustangs starters contributed to the scoring and were led by Tyler Crosbie. Crosbie led all scorers with 22 points and connected on three 3-pointers. Faimafili Lualu-Pututau and Jamison Webb also had a nice night offensively for MC scoring 18 and 19 points, respectively.

MC led by one at the half, and both teams struggled in the third quarter as the Mustangs outscored the Lancers 7-5 in the period. MC came out shooting the basketball on fire in the fourth quarter as they racked up 25 points to seal the victory.

Mike Hibbert, who scored 17 points, led the offensive attack for the Lancers. Scott Sweeten chipped in 15 points for the Lancers as well, but they didn’t get much help from anyone else.

The Mustangs are off until December 29th when they will visit Woods Cross.
