Increase in flu prompts restrictions at Logan Regional Hospital

The Bear River Health Department is seeing an increase in the number of reported cases of influenza in Cache County. Because of the increase in the flu-like illnesses reported in local health clinics, Logan Regional Hospital is restricting visitors at the hospital to age 14 and older as a precautionary measure to protect patients and the public.

Lloyd Berentzen, Executive Director of the Department, says the county is seeing elevated influenza activity in the area much earlier than usual. He encourages everyone who has not had a flu shot to either visit the health department or their own health care provider.
