Cache County agrees to move forward with emissions testing

Emission control testing is expected to begin in Cache County before long.  Tuesday night the Cache County Council essentially agreed to implement a vehicle emissions and maintenance program.

The council agreed to have the Bear River Heath Department implement the program the county has been fighting for several months.  It will be much like the one informally approved several months ago.

The agreement comes after much of the month of January has been under unhealthy air conditions because of inversions. Council members said they are going along with the ordinance only because they have been threatened with loss of highway funds or other sources of money if the EPA does not approve the attempt to reduce air pollution.
