Tremonton woman injured in Valley View Highway accident

A Tremonton resident is listed in critical condition after her car spun into the path of another vehicle on State Road 30, also known as Valley View Highway, Tuesday morning.

According to the Tremonton Leader, Camille Trimble, 20, was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt in the westbound lane when she lost control of her vehicle near mile post 94. Her Cobalt spun into the path of a Chevrolet Uplander in the eastbound lane driven by 28 year-old Katie Winkler, also a resident of Tremonton.

Winkler’s vehicle struck Trimble’s vehicle on the driver’s door, resulting in severe head injuries to Trimble. Trimble had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital. She was later transferred to Ogden’s McKay-Dee Hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Winkler suffered leg injuries in the accident. She, too, was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital. Traffic in both directions was stopped for approximately an hour as crews attended to the victims and cleared the accident.

An investigation continues but it appears weather may have been a factor in the accident.
