LOGAN — Plans are underway for the largest three-day car show in the state, the Cache Valley Cruise-In. This year’s Cruise-In will be July 4th through the 6th at the Cache County fairgrounds. One of the highlights of this year’s event will be a concert Friday night, July 5th.

Mary Zilles of the Cache Valley Cruise-In association says last year they decided not to hold a concert to gauge the public’s interest. “We were kind of wondering if the public really wanted the concert or how it affected the car show,” said Zilles. “In the end, it was good that we didn’t have one because on that Thursday night, the arena was a mud hole.”

Zilles said, “after all was said and done we had a lot of people come to us and say why didn’t you do the concert and we missed the concert. I think Cache Valley is really hungry for entertainment during the summer.”

This year’s concert will feature Pat Benatar. Benatar was one of the top acts in the ’80s with hits like “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Heartbreaker,” and “Love is a Battlefield.”

Speaking about Benatar, Mary Zilles said, “people remember her from the ’80s, a lot of the MTV videos of her. She was an iconic celebrity.”

Benatar has two multi-platinum albums and 14 top 40 singles to her credit. She’ll be joined on stage by her husband and lead guitar player, Neil Giraldo.

Tickets go on sale to the general public March 1st at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at Macey’s in Logan and online at ezticket.com. Ticket prices range from $29.50 to $74.50.
