Utah Army Guard’s 65th Fires Brigade conducts change of command

CAMP WILLIAMS, Utah — The Utah Army National Guard’s 65th Fires Brigade will conduct a change-of-command ceremony Saturday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m. at the Camp Williams Readiness Center.

At the ceremony Col. Loren. S. Fuller will relinquish command to Col. Brent E. Stark.

Fuller, of St. George, has commanded the 65th since 2010. He enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard in 1982. In his civilian employment he is deputy fire chief for the City of Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.

Stark, an Orem resident, has served in the Utah Army National Guard since 1985. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1987 and during his career has served as an executive officer, operations officer, battery commander and battalion commander. He is currently the deputy commander of the 65th Fires Brigade.

Stark assumes command of approximately 600 Soldiers, with subordinate units based at Camp Williams, Logan, Brigham City, Spanish Fork, St. George, Manti, Beaver, Cedar City, Fillmore, Richfield and Tooele.
