LOGAN—Logan Film Festival (LFF) is pleased to welcome Jeff Consiglio, Oscar winning editor and Marc Aramian, Emmy winning composer to the festival this year as guest lecturers.
Jeff Consiglio has worked as director, producer, editor and creative consultant on film productions for over 30 years. Best known for his editing work, Jeff edited the Academy Award Winning documentary film INOCENTE which took the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Subject in 2013.
Marc Aramian has composed hundreds of scores for film, TV, records and commercials. Musical career highlights include six features, including his recent work on Ethan Hawke’s Sinister, over 90 TV shows (two of which won Emmys and one of which won a Peabody Award), six record albums, over 500 commercials, one commissioned musical for Tokyo’s “Broadway,” seven computer games, six ‘certified platinum’ direct-to-video productions, and the Flag Ceremony for the ’92 Olympics in Barcelona. He was Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer on dozens of films and TV shows.
Jeff and Marc will be guest lecturers together on Friday, March 22, to present the topic: The Art of Collaborative Filmmaking, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the Caine-Lyric Theatre.
On Saturday, March 23, at 3:00pm, Marc will discuss the creation of the music soundtrack from the horror film “Sinister” (Ethan Hawke) using the latest techniques for creating terror in the hearts of an audience during his Scoring lecture.
At 6:00pm on Saturday, March 23, at the Caine-Lyric Theatre, Jeff will be the guest speaker for lecture “Lying, Cheating & Stealing—The Art of Honest Storytelling, where Jeff talks about what it takes to make great stories into films.
In addition to these great events, LFF is scheduled kick-off with an Opening Night Gala on Thursday, March 21, beginning at 4:30pm followed by the USU Caine College of the Arts Fringe Film Competition at 6:00pm. On Friday, March 22, the Cache Valley Visitors’ Bureau and the Northern Utah Film Commission host the Cache Valley FAM Tour beginning at 1:00pm, followed by the Utah Film Commission sponsored Filmmaker Reception at 6:00pm. And finally the 2013 LFF Awards Ceremony will be Friday, March 22, 7:00pm at the Caine Lyric Theatre. All details can be found on the website loganfilmfestival.com.
LFF is hosted by the City of Logan, Utah. Logan is one of the few cities in Utah with a National Historic District with wonderful old buildings and mansions in a picturesque mountain valley (Cache Valley), surrounded by century old farms, incredible mountain and valley scenery, and dozens of small farming communities perfect for filming.
