Body found in Logan River

<strong>LOGAN —</strong> A body was discovered Friday morning in the Logan River near the Riverwalk Parkway, 843 South 100 West. Logan City Police Lieutenant Brad Franke said the body was found by residents in the area. 

Police were first called at 10:20 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, a 64 year old male was found face down in the river.  Medical crews attempted to revive the man unsuccessfully. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Medical examiners said the man’s death could have been accidental. According to various sources of information, the victim went out to fish in the Logan River. The exact cause of death is still unknown but police say they did not see any signs of foul play.

The name of the man has not yet been released, pending notification of family.
