LCPD Police Chief Gary Jensen says valley agencies work well together

LOGAN— He’s worked in law enforcement for 25 years now, and Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen said he feels that agencies work together here more than other places in the state. On KVNU’s “For the People” show Monday, Jensen was asked how the different agencies separate their work. He said the Logan Police Department covers Logan City Proper.

“Similarly, we have North Park Police Department, which is jurisdictionally responsible for North Logan and Hyde Park, Smithfield has their own police department, the university has their own police department,” Jensen said. “The Sheriff manages all the unincorporated and some cities that have contracted with him for law enforcement necessity. The Highway Patrol is jurisdictionally responsible for any state or local highways.”

Jensen also said what he likes best, is that when one agency needs some help a phone call will bring assistance from other jurisdictions.
