Nibley mayor addresses upcoming election, Heritage Days

Nibley Mayor Gerald Knight is inviting everyone both in and outside of his community to attend at least some of the many events planned for next week’s Heritage Days. It will be the last time Knight will be over-seeing Heritage Days because this is the last year of his second term and he chose not to seek re-election. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Thursday, Knight said he has thoroughly enjoyed the job and he wants others to have the same opportunity.

“We’ve got three great candidates,” Knight said. “I am excited for them and the opportunity not only to run but to serve once they’re elected.”

Those running for mayor are Thayne Mickelson, Carrie Cook and Shawn Dustin. Mickelsen and Cook are both current members of the city council.
