If you like to hike, Cache Hikers might be for you. Hikes are scheduled for most weekends from mid-May through mid-October and winter trips are scheduled from January to mid-March.

On <a href=”http://610kvnu.com/assets/podcaster/324/2013_06_27_324_12016_2867.mp3″ target=”_blank”>KVNU’s For the People program on Wednesday</a>, Dave Wallace talked about what age groups these hikes are designed for.

“Anybody that can walk, really. I guess if you have a really young child, a toddler, that might not be appropriate,” Wallace said. “We’ve had families that come on them with a full range of children’s ages.

“We have old people. A lot of us tend to be over the hill but we have a number of young people who are active and it’s fun to get that mix.”

Cache Hikers will host a trail maintenance day on the Card Canyon Trail in Logan Canyon this Saturday. Participants will help clear brush and rocks until 12 noon, have lunch and hike back to the trail head.

Those interested in participating can meet Saturday morning at 8 a.m. in the southwest corner of the Smith’s Marketplace parking lot at 750 North Main in Logan. Those who come are advised to bring food, water, appropriate clothing, gloves and clippers if available.
