UPDATE: Local fire marshalls and state forester issure fire and firework restrictions

LOGAN – Due to the current and forecast conditions of extremely dry weather and increasing temperatures, the Cache County Fire Marshall, Logan City Fire Marshall and the Utah State Forester have issued several fire and fireworks restrictions.

These orders are effective immediately and shall remain through July 31, 2013. In addition to the restricted areas for fireworks listed below, the state forester prohibits building open fires of any kind (except campfires built within designated facilities), smoking (except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared to mineral soil), discharging tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices, including explosive targets, and cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.

The use of fireworks are now restricted in the following areas:

<div><strong>LOGAN CITY:</strong></div><div> </div><div>All areas North of Highway 89 and East of 1200 East</div><div> </div><div>All areas South of Highway 89/400 North and East of 600 East</div><div> </div><div>Any mountainous, brush covered or forested areas</div><div> </div><div>Any undeveloped wildland or land being used for agricultural purposes</div><div> </div><div><strong>CACHE COUNTY:</strong></div><div> </div><div>All unincorporated state and private property within Cache County</div><div> </div><div><strong>NORTH LOGAN CITY:</strong></div><div> </div><div>All areas East of 1600 East</div>

<strong>RICHMOND CITY:</strong>

<div>All areas North of 300 North, East of 300 East and South of 800 South</div><div> </div><div><strong>WELLSVILLE CITY:</strong></div><div> </div><div>All areas South of 900 South, West of 200 West and North of 400 North</div>

<strong>PROVIDENCE CITY:</strong> 

<div>Beginning at approximately 450 North 300 East, all properties north of 450 North and east of 300 East continuing south to 100 South, all properties south of 100 South and east of Main Street continuing south to 500 South, all properties south of 500 South, continuing west to Meadow Lane, all properties west of Meadow Lane, continuing north to 300 South, then all properties west of Garden Drive continuing north to Golf Course Rd, all properties north of Golf Course Road, continuing east to 100 West, all properties west of 100 West continuing north to Spring Creek Parkway, all properties north of Spring Creek Parkway continuing east to  approximately 450 North 300 East.</div>

<strong>BOX ELDER COUNTY:</strong>

All unincorporated state and private property within Box Elder County.
