As investigation of Attorney General continues, officials patience wears thin

Attorney General John Swallow continues to deny all the allegations against him and he keeps telling Utahns the truth will come out so be patient.

David James, former Cache Republican Party Chairman, said he, like many others he has talked to, is running out of patience.

“And this whole thing with ‘let’s impeach him’ and everything else, and he says ‘no, I’m going to hold on because there’s other information,'” James said. “I don’t want to deal with impeachment, this is the state of Utah. We have standards. He should have standards. He’s been around politics long enough; he needs to step aside if he cannot make his case.”

Republican State Senator Howard Stevenson is saying an investigation into Swallow is “rushed and ill-conceived.” Stevenson said he is baffled by the House’s decision to move forward with a probe. The allegations against Swallow date back from before he was attorney general.
