Peaches down Blue Sox behind King

BRIGHAM CITY – A complete game from Bobby King and an offensive onslaught lifted the Brigham City Peaches to a 13-4 win over Smithfield Wednesday at home.

King gave up four runs on eight hits over seven innings, and the Peaches racked up 15 hits and benefited from five Smithfield errors.

The Blue Sox jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Peaches stormed back with nine unanswered runs over the next two innings, highlighted by Cody Parkinson’s home run.

Parkinson finished with four RBI’s and added a double. 

Brigham City improved to 5-11, while Smithfield fell to 10-7. Up next for the Peaches is a visit to league-leading Providence on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.m while Smithfield will host a non-league doubleheader against Salt Lake on Saturday at 6 p.m.
