For Alan Estes’ Eagle Scout project he has organized a Classic Car show for Saturday at the Hyrum Rodeo Grounds parking lot and he is requesting spectators bring food donations to the Cache Community Food Pantry instead of paying admission.

“Part of my Eagle project was supposed to be a service project; I wanted to put a Classic Car Show in as an Eagle project. I just had to find some ways to make that work.

“I put out boxes in churches around Hyrum and had people donate food in those boxes. That turned out to be pretty successful.”

The Classic Car show is Saturday (August 17) and Estes said admission is free. He is encouraging participants and spectators to bring donations for the food pantry.

“At the car show we will have a truck and those attending can put their donations of food into that and then come and look at the cars.”

Estes, a 16-year old Mountain Crest High student, said he has talked to several classic car owners in Cache Valley.

“I have talked to those involved in the Cache Valley Cruise-In and many of them have committed to bring their cars and take part in the event Saturday.”

After registration from 5-6 p.m., the car show will be open 6-9 p.m.

Awards and prizes will be given to car show participants.
