West launches write-in candidacy for Logan Mayor

There are now three candidates for Logan Mayor after Richard West announced that he is running as a write-in candidate.

West says he has lived in Logan for 14 years, he resides in the Adams Park area, he has been married for 32 years and has three wonderful sons along with four grandchildren. West says, unfortunately, his name will not appear on the November 5 ballot.

“It has to be written in and that is a tough row to hoe for someone that does a write-in campaign,” West says. “But I have people that have encouraged me to do this to see who the Primary election was going to turn out and then go after it based on the turnout. That’s why I’m doing this.”

West says some great people are working for the City of Logan. However, he believes the mayor’s office should not be hidden behind elevators and second stories. September 6 is the deadline for filing as a write-in candidate.

Incumbent Logan Mayor Randy Watts is running for a third term and he is being challenged by Cache County Councilmember Craig Petersen.
