It’s back to the win column for the Logan High girls soccer team.
Demi Lopez put the Grizzlies on the board early, and Logan overcame some offensive struggles to earn a 2-1 win over Roy on Tuesday.
“We’ve got two sides of the coin. We didn’t perform very well but we got the three points we needed,” Logan head coach Mitch Peterson said. “I would have liked to see us capitalize on the finishing.”
Lopez netted her third goal in three games, and Caitlin McCuskey doubled the lead in the second half and the Grizzlies held on for the win.
Keylee Stimpson got the Royals on the board and cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second half, but Roy was unable to get the equalizer.
Logan improved to 6-3-0 this season, and 2-1 in Region 5 play. The Grizzlies face Ogden at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 on the road.
