Cache County deputies receive awards and obtain Certified Jail Commander certifications

Logan- UT – The Utah Sheriffs Association held their annual training conference in St. George, Utah earlier this week. At the awards banquet Deputy Misty Garn received the Utah Sheriff Association “Corrections Officer of the Year” award for her sustained and consistent support of the Utah Special Olympics program in Cache Valley and the State of Utah.

Deputy Tim Rameriz, a detective with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Cache/Rich Narcotics Task Force, received the Utah Sheriffs Association “Deputy Sheriff of the Year” award for his work on several complex narcotic investigations where he served as the lead investigator.

In addition, Lt. Matt Bilodeau, Sgt. Wyatt Goring and Nurse Supervisor, Kathleen Gittens achieved certified “Jail Commander Certifications” and were recognized at the banquet for their efforts.

Sheriff Nelson stated, “it takes a lot of hard work and effort to achieve this certification and I am grateful for the efforts they have made to achieve this certification.” Sheriff Nelson further stated, “this is the second year in a row that Cache County Deputies have earned top recognition from the Utah Sheriffs Association. It shows the caliber of professionalism that the employees of the Sheriff’s Office have.”
