LOGAN – On Friday, the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup attempted to pull on Main Street from the driveway of Café Rio and hit a woman on her bike. The driver of the truck, 30-year-old Paul Anderson, was looking back and forth at the busy traffic and did not notice the bicyclist in the outside lane nearest to him. When he saw a break in the traffic, he pulled out but quickly stopped when he felt he had hit something. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the bicyclist to the hospital by ambulance.
“It appears as though she had not been wearing a helmet,” said Logan Police Department Assistant Chief Jeff Curtis. “She did have some injuries to her head.”
Curtis confirmed that the woman bicyclist is Asian and appeared to be in her teens or early twenties. Until her exact age is identified, officers will not release her name.
