Drug bust leads to arrest of 8

Agents with the Cache Rich Drug Task Force and Officers of the Logan City Police Department were investigating the possession and distribution of controlled substances in the Logan area. As a result of the investigation officers conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine in the Logan area.

Alejo Moreno- Rodriguez (35) and Eli Albaarran (29), both from Logan, were arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail for multiple charges ranging from possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, evasion, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In conjunction with this investigation a search warrant was served on an address in Logan. Tina Mejia (34), Alissa Taylor (18), Breyner Marroquin (22), and William Cottom (22) were arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail on charges ranging from possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia in a drug free zone, to outstanding bench warrants, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and child endangerment. All adults were booked into the Cache County Jail.

Two juveniles ages 16 and 14 were also arrested and placed in custody of the Youth Detention Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug free zone, as well as a minor in possession of alcohol.

Seized in the investigation was marijuana, drug pipes, a large quantity of methamphetamine, (in excess of 4 ounces), a handgun, and two vehicles.
