New Life Fellowship Church has a new home

NORTH LOGAN – Pastor Dane Wead of the New Life Fellowship Church said it’s a good feeling to have a new building after being transient for the past five years. The new church has been open since October 31st and is located at 2045 N 800 E in North Logan.

“We had a building on 1000 N 400 W but we outgrew it. In 2008, we decided to sell that building and look for property for a new church,” Wead explained.

Wead said they then met with a Lutheran church in town that had property but wanted a building to buy instead. That’s when New Life Fellowship did a swap with the Lutheran church.

New Life Fellowship moved out of their building in January of 2009 and then met at Cinefour Theater for two years. After that, members went to Movies 5 Theater for church meetings. For the last year and a half, the congregation has been meeting at the Riverwoods Conference Center. During this time, they also collected funds and made arrangements to work on their new building.

Wead said it was hard at times to move around so much but they made it work.

“The difficult thing was, at each location on Sundays, we would arrive early and have to bring in all our sound equipment to set it up. Then we’d have to take it all down and pack it back in the trailer, then start over again the following week,” he said. “That got kind of tiresome after a while.”

Services start at 10:30 am each morning. A set-up crew would go in each Sunday at 7:30 am to arrange everything.

Wead said he is excited about the new building and invites the community to use it. He wants to see it used for funerals, weddings, community events, as well as for church services.

The current congregation size is close to 200 but the new building can seat up to 400 people. Wead welcomes those in the community to come just as you are in jeans and a t-shirt, and to visit <a href=”http://www.newlifelogan.com/” target=”_blank”>newlifelogan.com</a> for further information.
