Vehicle rollover on the old Sardine Highway

LOGAN – A teenager has been hospitalized after a car accident Tuesday night near Mt. Sterling. The 16-year-old male was driving a Nissan Altima, northbound on the old Sardine Highway when he lost control.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed. The car slid off the road, rolled onto its side and then flipped end-over-end, multiple times.

The crash was reported by neighbors in the area who called 911.

Peterson said the driver was taken to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance and then immediately flown to a Salt lake area hospital by Life Flight.

There were no passengers in the vehicle. Investigators believe that excessive speed was the contributing factor in the accident.
