LOGAN — A fire Tuesday night destroyed a barn in Paradise, 9800 South 380 East, and caused a reported $195,000 in damages.

Paradise Fire Chief Troy Fredrickson said the fire was reported at 6:19 p.m. by a passing motorist. The fire was located at the Paradise Equestrian Barn.

Fire departments from Hyrum, Wellsville and the Cache County Fire District were dispatched to the blaze.

Crews reported the barn fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene.

Fredrickson said there were no fire hydrants in the area so additional tender units were ordered from Logan, Smithfield and North Logan.

The barn contained 200 tons of hay and 150 tons of straw. A bailer, toyhauler trailer with UTV and four-wheelers were also being stored inside the barn and destroyed in the fire.

Fredrickson said the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no reports of any injuries.
