More events being planned in the Bullen Center

The Cache Valley Center for the Arts will present country music star Sherrie Austin in concert on June 27th and CVCA Marketing Director Adam Shelton said there’s an extra reason to purchase tickets early. Shelton said the popular performer will be performing in a smaller venue than most concerts: in the ballroom of the Bullen Center.

On KVNU’s Crosstalk program Thursday, Shelton said the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre will be using the Ellen Eccles Theatre at the time, getting ready for the 2014 season. But he said the CVCA had planned to use the ballroom more often anyway.

“We want that Bullen Center, people are most familiar with it as a meeting place or a place to hold a wedding,” Shelton explained. “We want that center to also be thought of as an art venue, somewhere where artists can come, or a gallery, or a concert hall.

“So I think this is a new take on the space and how we can use it and how the community can benefit from it.”

Shelton said people can make reservations for the Sherrie Austin concert by calling 752-0026.
