Logan Trails Festival will celebrate the city’s urban trails

Logan residents seem to love trails. Even so, Gary Saxton, manager for the Logan Downtown Alliance, said he doubts if most people realize there are actually 28 urban trails in Logan City.

He said with the completion of the pedestrian tunnel at Center Street and 200 East the city is launching the Logan Trails Festival on Saturday, June 21.

“We’ll gather on that Saturday,” said Saxton. “There will be a family fun run under the new pedestrian tunnel up the Boulevard Trail and the Canyon Road Trail.

“There will be a family bike ride and bike rodeo for children. There will be entertainment.”

Saxton said the Logan Parks and Recreation Department is behind the new event. He said everything will be free and he believes it is a great way to kick off summer.
