First Annual Cache Valley Storytelling Festival

Families gathered at Elk Ridge Park to listen to professional storytellers.

NORTH LOGAN – On Saturday, children and adults of all ages gathered beneath a tent at Elk Ridge Park for the first ever Cache Valley Storytelling Festival. Professional Storyteller Wayne McKay, who organized the event, said that thanks to the generosity of sponsors and the storytellers, the event was free to the public.

Nationally recognized storytellers and local musicians all took the stage to perform for the crowd. One storyteller, Nannette Watts, told childhood stories of getting into trouble with her two brothers. Watts is the Director of the National Youth Storytelling Showcase. Other storytellers in attendance were Teresa Clark, Ted Erekson, Omar and Lori Hansen, Richard Hatch, and Clive Romney.
