Tractor rollover at Cherry Peak ski resort

LOGAN — A 50-year-old Paradise man was taken to the hospital Thursday morning, after he was thrown from a tractor at Cherry Peak ski resort, east of Richmond.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said John Willis was operating a Skid Steer type tractor when it lost stability and rolled approximately 200 ft. down the mountainside.

Willis was thrown clear of the tractor and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Cache Valley Hospital as a precaution.

Peterson said Willis is an employee of Cherry Peak and was using the tractor to clear brush at trees at the time of the accident.

Search and rescue crews were initially called to the accident but were later cancelled. Ambulance crews were able to reach Willis at the lodge area of the resort.

Peterson said no charges are being pursued in the accident.
