NIBLEY – Residents are now able to water their lawns after an electrical malfunction in one of the city wells was repaired Monday morning. The city advised water users on Sunday to conserve water and not to use culinary water for landscaping purposes until the well was repaired.
According to Nibley City Manager David Zook, the electrical problem was causing the system to shut off.
“We got a technician out and he was able to identify the problem and reset the system,” he said. “We got it up and running yesterday and were able to refill our reservoir.”
Zook said nobody ran out of water and the city is not aware of any other problems it may have caused.
“We had water but we just felt like if people continued watering yards then it would diminish our supply and so just to be safe we felt like we should ask people to not water their yards until we got it fixed,” he said.
