Potter thinks Powder Mountain proposal is a ‘win-win’

At its next regular meeting, the Cache County Council will be voting on whether or not to approve a proposed development plan for the Powder Mountain ski resort area.

Although most of the area is in Weber County, part of the land lies in Cache County. County Council Chairman Val Potter said he took a tour of the area recently and was impressed with what he learned.

“I’ve talked to the commissioners from Weber County. They are very supportive of it,” Potter says. “It looks like a very good project. Some of the territory they have is in Cache County.

“The Weber County people are going to take care of the services, and the inspections. We will collect the taxes on the property that is in Cache County. It really is a win-win for both sides.”

The Cache County Council will discuss the Powder Mountain proposal at its meeting on August 12.
