Joint councils agree to create a working group to study transportation funding issues

<span>Members of the Cache County and Logan Municipal Councils agree that  funding is difficult to find for transportation projects and at a joint meeting </span><span><span>Tuesday</span></span><span> it was decided to form a “working group” to study those difficulties and perhaps find another source of funding.</span>

<span>The group will be made up of representatives from each of the councils along with the Cache Valley Transit District and the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization. Cache County Councilmember and executive-elect Craig Buttars made that proposal which came the day after the CVTD decided not to ask for a sales tax increase.</span>

<span>Other issues discussed at the joint meeting were airport improvements, the Highline Trail, the new landfill and transfer update, and the Cache County Fairgrounds separation of ownership. Logan Mayor Craig Petersen also gave an update on a wastewater treatment facility.</span>
