Cache County Sheriffs conducting school zone and crosswalk blitz this week

<span>The first day of school is </span><span><span>Thursday, August 21</span></span><span> and that means school zones and crosswalks will be in full use again. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office  will be conducting a crosswalk and school zone blitz on the first two days of school, </span><span><span>Thursday</span></span><span> and Friday, of this week.</span>

<span>Deputies will be highly visible at crosswalks at all Cache County School District schools, both in the morning and afternoon hours, and will conduct traffic stops to educate, warn and cite individuals as deemed necessary.</span>

<span>The Sheriff’s office is reminding drivers to slow down, especially during times when school buses are dropping off or picking up students at bus stops and when approaching and driving through all crosswalks and school zones.</span>

<span>Officers remind drivers that the speed limit in a school zone is reduced to 20 miles per hour when the amber lights are flashing.</span>
