Miss Utah, who was Miss Cache Valley first, will be leaving Monday for Atlantic City to compete for the title of Miss America.
On KVNU’s For the People program Tuesday, Karlie Major said becoming Miss Utah has been a life-changing experience. And she said things have been very busy.
“There’s a lot of work that goes into preparing for Miss America,” Major explained. “You’re in a national competition with 52 other very talented, beautiful, smart women.
“So there’s a lot of time spent preparing for the interview part of that as well as working on talents and trying to put wardrobe together. It’s been very busy.”
Miss Utah said she had the opportunity to go to Florida for the National Outstanding Teen Competition. There she got to meet other candidates for Miss America and she said a lot of bonding and forming of friendships was done there.
