Once again the Ugandan Kids Choir will be spreading hope for children in poverty right here in Cache Valley. The choir will perform in concert on Friday, September 19 starting at 7 p.m. at the Mount Logan Middle School.
Their appearance is hosted by the First Presbyterian Church of Logan and Debbie Gowan, the church’s mission chair, said the choir is a ministry of Childcare Worldwide.
Gowan said when the Ugandan Kids Choir came two years ago they delighted a huge crowd.
“They are so talented,” Gowan said. “So they are going to sing in their native Ugandan language. They are going to sing about hope. They are incredible drummers, from the girls and the boys.
“They have these wonderful xylophones that are made out of wood. They sound wonderful. They have huge drums of all different sizes. Their costumes are native to their land, beautiful and bright.”
Gowan said through child sponsorship Childcare Worldwide brings hope to children in need by providing them with an education and helping to break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
